Sometimes (rarely) you come across a blog or site that is what it says it is, and this is one of those. I love your site and will be back for more. It's bookmarked! Jennie Potts

Hi Shradda, Thanks for following! My post on retirement was more about giving up what isn't working for you in exchange for getting your life back. Although I am not making the same amount of money that I was when I was full time in my business (bye bye six figures for now), I still have my business as an asset, and have started a couple of other businesses that have generated livable income. My goal isn't to kill myself to generate wealth and lose my family in the process, but to enjoy the process of wealth generation in such a way that I can still have a life and see my kids grow up. I am firmly of the belief that making money isn't hard, but it is impossible to make more time!! ;-) Have a happy new year!

This is all very intriguing, I am almost 33 and while I didn't retire I did go back to school and embarked a new career that would allow my time to be more flexible. I can't wait to read more.

My stepmother is retired at 50, but not by choice, by health (her back - two surgeries this past year) and the fact my father makes more than enough for the two, and he is fine with her being retired. In fact, I learned a lot from my father about having a business mentality. I believe just about any book, even if it was selling real estate or Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki, if it was business, I was reading it.

I am not sure if I want to really retire from work as I like the connections with others, but it is nice to see how others have come to that decision and I applaud them.

I like to think it was an Oh Snap decision, but it happened over a period of time. It was my vacation over the summer that was like the straw that broke the camel's back Although, I thought I was doing what I wanted to be doing (making a lot of money, having my own business, working toward financial freedom) there was a values conflict. I needed to feel free, and have time with my family. So instead of doing nothing, I did something. Keep me posted on your progress, sounds cool!

So did this happen for you as a decision you had to reach gradually, or was it kind of an "Oh snap!" moment when you just knew things had to change?

I ask because I definitely had one of those moments over the summer, and while I'm still working my tail off, I definitely started doing more for myself.
